ADI ONAI
THE STORY
...was a name spontaneously gifted to me, in that unique pronunciation, by a Wise Women
during a potent moment of initiation and rebirth for my life in 2017, at the tender age of 19.
She explained she was seeing Adi as being the Masculine, O being the bridge and Nai being the feminine.
At the time I meditated deeply on whether I was to accept and move forward embracing this new name, and the resonance kept showing that this represented the next level expansion into more of who I am energetically, after years of constriction.
In asking in meditation what "Adi Onai" meant, I zoned out and awoke to a clear vision where I was shown the words
"Seer of the True Light"
THE MEANING
"Adi" is my birth name, a common name meaning a "Rare Jewel" in Hebrew, and "Primordial" in Sanskrit.
In later research I discovered that "Onai", unbeknownst to me, means "To See" according to the Shona people of Zimbabwe, whereas "Adi" also happens to also have a secondary translation as "My Witness" in Hebrew. Another meaning for "Onai" in the Japanese languages was "Beloved", whereas "Nai" also means Heaven or Sky in the Yawanawa language of Indigenous Brasil.
With "Adi" being like the Jewel refracting Primordial Light, and "Onai" being a Seeing in Heaven, the connection seemed clear.
THE CONTEXT
I have cycled through being called Adi Onai, Adama, and back to Adi in my life in an open question and listening - feeling unattached to any of the names as the concept of a solid sense of self often feels insincere, while also seeing the silliness of having so many hippie names. With each of these names first landing as complete emergent surprises, they have stayed with me through my journey of being more than happy to abandon each and any of them, as I've come to a loose, clear place of accepting they're fitting.
With the main intention being to simply trust and honor the sacred transmissions in which these names were gifted.

CASUAL NAME
I still happily go by my first name "Adi" - while I have been known to also go by many varying names over the year, due to truly feeling names are mere superficial and hollow masks, without any one defining my true Nature or Self. Anyone is free to call me this, as it's what I've lived most my life as, and still feels simple and true to me.

As a creative and sacred space facilitator, because there are many Adi's out there already (as it actually is a common Israeli name) remaining integrated with the "Onai" feels useful, honoring my core as "Adi", as well as the expansion into more of my unique spirit. Onai can thus be seen as a middle name, or second part of the first name.

In terms of last names, I was born with the last name Beth, but even that was newly created after 4 last name changes our jewish ancestors made to fit into European society better from our traditional Hebrew last name, which was "Baal Chalom", meaning Dream Master. Before my family had recently found out this hidden story, I heard my ancestors give me permission to drop the current name - and sometime after that was clearly being shown that I was recieving a name in vision from below the ground, from the Spirit of the Earth, that appeared to be "Adam".
Upon my confusion, of "Wtf, you don't have a cooler spirit name for me?" i looked and listened closer, and saw that there was another A revealed after Adam, making at "Adama" - which means Earth in Hebrew. However in this context I could immediately perceive a clear, yet hidden meaning, being about the the union of Man,
Adam in Hebrew, with Mother, known as "Ma" in many languages - unifying the sense of separation between the Masculine and it's Mother Source, between Patriarchal Humanity and our Living Earth, which is the union and message I'm in devotion to embodying, and serving humanities broader awakening to, if I can help it.

As an Artist / Musician name, it feels most natural to receive the name gifted to me as the right distinguisher to honor my unique frequency. As this name seems to have not emerged in other places through any immediate internet search, it makes it most efficient for others to find me through the internet too. It is uniquely pronounced Adïonāï, emphasis on the final ah-eeh, rather then AI - not to be mistaken as Adonai or some religious reference.
